Dyslexia affects roughly one in five students, but for many of them, the path to diagnosis and effective intervention is slow, frustrating, and expensive. In this recorded webinar, KY AEPA introduces Neuralign — a science-based, game-driven reading intervention program that gets at the root cause of reading struggles rather than managing symptoms with accommodations and endless repetition.
About the Program
Neuralign was designed by dyslexics, for dyslexics. Rather than layering on another phonics module or accommodation strategy, it works by rewiring the neural pathways that connect the brain's two hemispheres — the underlying issue responsible for most dyslexia cases. Students complete 40 hours of automated intervention delivered through engaging, game-based sessions that target auditory processing, visual processing, ocular motor control, working memory, and executive function simultaneously.
The program runs in three phases:
- Phase 1 – Cognitive Therapy (15 hours): Game-based sessions that strengthen the neural connections needed for reading, spelling, and processing. Students work 30 minutes at a time, three days a week.
- Phase 2 – Speed Reading: Daily fluency practice where students read the same passage five times across a week, building automaticity and expanding vocabulary. Lexile levels adjust automatically to student progress.
- Phase 3 – Reading Exercises: Comprehension activities, spatial reasoning, and working memory challenges that reinforce gains made in the earlier phases.
Phases 2 and 3 run concurrently, which is how the full program is completed in approximately 15 weeks.
What Results Look Like
99% of Neuralign users advance two or more reading grade levels within those 40 hours of intervention. The webinar presenter, Bethany — a teacher who first discovered Neuralign as a parent — shared the story of her son Bo, who entered the program at the end of first grade unable to advance with his peers. After one summer using Neuralign three days a week, Bo was reading on grade level, spelling with his peers, solving math problems, and speaking clearly. The cognitive gains weren't limited to reading — his attention, working memory, and confidence all improved alongside his literacy skills.
Student progress is visible in real-time through the program's built-in data dashboard, and three assessment checkpoints — pre, mid, and post — give educators empirical evidence of growth.
Built for the Classroom
One of Neuralign's biggest advantages for schools is its low implementation burden. There's no certification required, no lengthy training or in-service, and no teacher-led lesson delivery. A student needs a laptop, a mouse, and headphones. After the initial login and orientation, the program runs itself — adapting automatically to each learner's input. This makes it equally viable for individual intervention sessions or for an interventionist working with multiple students simultaneously.
The program supports students ages 5 through adult and has demonstrated effectiveness not just for dyslexia, but also for students with ADHD, autism, and cerebral palsy.
